An Expert Advisor (EA) is an automated trading software designed for use on the MT4/MT5 trading platforms. It can be created and customized using MetaEditor, which is included with the PC version of MT4/MT5. EAs are essentially programs that set specific trading rules and execute trades (opening and closing positions) automatically based on those rules. EAs operate exclusively when MT4/MT5 is active and connected to the internet. They do not function during sleep mode or when the platform is disconnected, which is why they are often used in conjunction with Virtual Private Servers (VPS) to ensure continuous operation.
